I completely agree with you that blogging purely for money is tough/impossible to do, and you better be overwhelmingly passionate about your subject matter, or people will know and will stop reading, no matter how well you write. But I was interested---fascinated, perhaps---and that drove me and attracted others (some incredulous, some likewise interested). The blog goes beyond shaving, but in all cases I'm writing posts about things that interest me greatly. Those whose taste for the variety I like seem to keep coming back.
