Wait, you got 11,000 pageviews in the first seven days this site was live? What sort of amazing marketing bonanza did you launch with to get that kind of exposure? I just started writing a few small posts a week and sharing links here and there and after a month I'm nowhere near that territory.

I just passed the one month milestone of my blog Aspire 2 Wealth. I must admit that I check my statistics frantically. I'm pretty happy with the 1,500+ unique visitors I've managed to pick up thus far, but I want to GROW. I need a little over 5% week-over-week growth to make my Dec 2008 goal of 5000 unique visitors per week. Continue that growth for another year and I would have nearly 10,000 unique visitors per day. Thanks for reinforcing my resolve to keep building.

I agree it’s important to track your growth and a great way to look at it is in terms of percentage increase.

One thing I’ve found to be helpful as I’m getting started is to only check my site statistics once a week, not every day or every hour. That way I don’t worry so much about whether anyone is reading and can focus more on content. Think about it in terms of “if you build it, they will come”.

If after a while no one is reading your stuff, just start to leave comments on every one of Trent’s articles and maybe you’ll pick up a few readers that way :)
