Awesome things that I never took the time to think about. I had removed an ad block a couple of nights ago and now only have one ad block. It's a well-blended Adsense ad, but I may unblend that some.

I don't check my email each time I receive a new mail notification. But yes, I have a business email that I like to respond to as soon as it comes because I've noticed clients that receive my response quickly are more eager to give me work.

You have a valid point in noting that one should not blend the text ads with the theme of the website -- someone can click the link by mistake and land up on an undesired page. It should be very clear that they are ads, and not an internal part of your blog or website.

This is an awesome and helpful series. I can't wait for the next post.

Build upon your suggestion to reduce ads, it really works.

I started blogging in October, and like so many other naive bloggers, I began to clutter the site with ads.

Pageviews were low, returning visitors were non-existent, and I was completely oblivious to reader satisfaction.

By reducing the number of ad blocks from 4 to 2, I increased Google Adsense CTR, increased page views, and my FeedBurner Items click reached its highest level ever.

I guess "less is always more"

Great post. You know, we hear it again and again, but content really is king. The only thing that brings readers back is engaging, interesting content. Like your posts.

Thanks for the series. I look forward to reading more.
