An Unanticipated Cost of Living in the Country See, here’s the problem. This individual didn’t toss the deer in the back of his truck, take it home, skin it, butcher it, and save the venison meat. Not only would the writer have had a lot of free meat, but it would have reduced the financial impact of smashing his truck. (@ my personal finance blog)
The author did take the deer home. It cost $3000 for the repairs and his deductible was $1000. Expensive meat.
FYI in a situation like that taking the deer home isn’t always a good idea… if the bladder bursts, the meat is worthless.
