Simply illustrated articles like this are inspirational to all.
Working on the excitement factor and addiction buzz you get from savings is extra gravy.
Well done, keep up the great work,

How would this work with the ING Direct Orange Savings Account I see advertised on the right hand side of the page (and one I may just use to start my emergency fund soon)?

By the way, great, great site. I got 'weird' (to coin a popular Dave Ramsey phrase) and I've seen many valuable articles here to help me attain my goal of getting out of debt and on the road to saving for retirement.

Interesting post. But I must protest. I will under no circumstances open an HSBC Direct account immediately. After the nightmare that I've suffered with them and the call centers in the Philippines and India, and oh just a whole lot of mess. I will never do business with them again. Now on the other hand if you had mentioned maybe ETRADE or USAA, you might have had me convinced. For me I save at least one pay check out of my two paycheck month, and use the other to pay for bills and expenses, (and save whatever is left over!) Nice advice though. (Dont open accounts with HSBC they eat babies)

I'm in the middle of this exact scenerio. In early July, my fiance was complaining that she couldn't seem to get ahead and had no idea how I always seem to be financialy prepared. After several hours of trying to explain this to her, I persuaded her to follow this $10 a day plan (HSBC main, with the ING signup bonus). Now fast forward a few months, she has become so excited about watching her savings grow that she started "finding" extra cash to deposit. It really is addictive.
