You dont list TIPS. They are a trap, did you know that? IRS is claiming current "taxable income" on inflation adjustments made by TIPS. A savage cancellation of any possible inflation protection offered by the securities arm of Treasury

How is the coupon rate determined on Tbonds and Tbills prior to auction. Is it tied to some rate that the feds set during meetings or what?

Is the cupon rate refered to as 'yield' on CNBC or how do you compute the yield and what does it indicate for equities and other monetary positions.

Hey Trent,

Thanks for continuing to do a lot of legwork and bringing this wonderful information to us. Before your post I knew there were differences but hadn't had time to figure it all out. Keep up the great work of helping us new investors out!

PS, the font size is much better now, and I really prefer the tans over the previous light green theme. When you post a comment though the green background is a bit dark.

Also it might just be my laptop, but I can't submit comments from Firefox 2.0.0.1. I'll test this out on another computer of mine, but I've been having to use IE to comment.
I get the error message "Error: This file cannot be used on its own." if that helps.

Thanks!
