At my bank, I can choose the payment frequency and there’s no fee. (I’m located in Canada, so things may be different here.)

We pay our mortgage every 2 weeks because our first mortgage advisor told us we should – and honestly I find it to be annoying since I get paid monthly. We need to always keep a buffer in the account for those times when there are 3 payments in a given month. I’d rather just pay monthly and pay more per payment. If you get paid every two weeks, though, then paying the mortgage every two weeks should be convenient.
