I took a step this weekend to take an interest of mine to the next level and join a community group that introduced me to others as well as provides an opportunity to potentially save lives.

I enjoy weather, storms in particular. I happened to notice through our local library that they were having skywarn storm spotter training this weekend so I attended. Not only did I learn a lot and win a nice door prize I am now certified to call in severe weather reports that can effectively help the national weather service in issuing more advanced warnings that could potentially save lives or property.

Didn’t cost a dime and it will provide for a lot of excitement this spring and summer
