It would be more proper to say "May I have this job," or even "May I have this job, please"... but then you just sound desperate. (and questions like that) was to laugh and say "You'll find out in a few minutes. wait here while I go talk to the other interviewers." This type of response probably only works when the decision is given to the interviewee within about 15 minutes. There are better questions to ask.
