Built to Last and The Tipping Point are on my "must read list". I plan to get to them this year. I've read Jim Collins' Good to Great... one of the best books I have -ever- read. I couldn't believe how much I liked it.

Tipping point has some interesting ideas, but it also doesn't back up it's points very well. Examine those anecdotes a little closer and you start to notice that Gladwell doesn't really have much data to support his claims.

Of those books, I've only read 'The Tipping Point' and I sort of got different things out of it.

For example in the case of Revere (who being a true Brit I'll admit I'd never heard of) and Dawes and networking, the argument in the book is more that there are some well-connected people and if you can network with them you'll reap benefits out of all proportion to the effort you put it.

I'd say that the main lesson to be learnt is that you need to find the right audience for your idea.
