I’m with Mike.. All these “network your ass off” books imply that we are a bunch of social butterflies.. BTW, I don’t know how many companies I’ve talked to, networked, schmoozed, whatever, and EVERY ONE ended in “go online and apply for _____ job”… I can’t help but feel that the days of storming into an HR department full of piss and vinegar wielding a resume are OVER.

this book is ok if you are a very social person, and you have a network of friends. For people like me who don’t have any friends outside of family it has very little impact. Also, it is alot of work!! read-overwhelming, OH MY GOSH, and you have to be kidding?!

I also like the book ‘What Should I Do With My Life’. It’s not exactly a guide on how to figure it out, but it tells a lot of true-life stories about people completely changing their life. Including a business man who followed his dream and became a truck driver.
