It really takes a very special, dedicated person to have this kind kind of success.
Some of the ideas are quite good, such as focusing on generating income. However I have a very hard time with the messenger in this case, as well as a lot of the points in the books. Sure, you can learn some good things, but it is far from practical in many areas.

The "no money down" real estate gurus may occasionally have good ideas, but you generally should avoid their books. :)

It seems to me that the same principle may be active here.

I look forward to hearing your comments on going through this book 3 times. I recently got sucked in to the Kiyosaki empire, and what I found is that their genius is that thier books are just vague enough and just addictive enough to keep you buying them. That's just me, however, but I've meet others who read many more than one 'rich dad' book before they realized they were addicted. I hope it brings a fresh and wonderful experience on read #3. Good Luck, Sarah

When I read it - at the request of a friend who had bought it and wanted me to summarise it for them - I basically took it as a parable and a rethinking of how money works.

It lead me into the belief that property is the only sure fire way of making money (pretty much standard issue in the UK anyway) but fortunately I wasn't in a position to act on it.

Other things have stuck with me, such as different types of investors. I found myself not wanting to be rich. I've pretty much stuck there.

Anyway, all this comment just to say, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you make of it this time round.

Great start! I'm interested to see what you think of this book as you go through it. Like any 'guru' there is always going to be a hardcore set of fans and a hardcore set of critics. Hats off to you trying to get real about the book and go through it again.

My expectation is that you will find very little in terms of real substance in the book. This is always a major criticism of many personal finance books. But I'm interested to see what you come up with.

Cheers,
