If find my personality leads me in the other direction. I am not one that gets easily excited and celebratory. When I achieve a goal, my thoughts either race to how I could have done better, or what is next on the list.

I am learning to enjoy the successes in my life as time goes on. I found that I really need to derive joy and motivation from my accomplishments, or else my energy tank would not replenish. If accomplish large goal, I will usually get or do something that will aid me in the next journey. I like to buy something tangible and lasting that will remind my of the completed goal; maybe a long needed PDA, or new bag, or some golf equipment. Every time you hit a golf shot with your ‘get out of debt’ driver, something will resonate within you! I also try to make the reward appropriate for the time and energy that was spent reaching the goal. You don’t reward a small goal with a big vacation, but that might be appropriate for a winning a five year get out of debt battle(Paid with cash of course).
