I guess the housing bubble hasn’t quite burst yet. Although my wife and I are in pretty good financial shape, we were practically given a blank check on our mortgage preapproval, an amount far, far in excess of what we would ever reasonably spend on a house. It was so high that my wife spent an hour poring over our numbers, wondering if maybe we missed something in terms of what we can afford.
