I cut my teeth on these games and I’m so looking forward to playing through many of them again. We’ve already got Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario World, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Bonk’s Adventure – my wife and I have played these more than Wii Sports, actually.

It is a lot of fun on your own and more so with a group. Let me tell you though, invest in rechargeables if you haven’t already. A few good games to pick up:
WiiPlay – For the cost of a regular game, it includes a Wii Remote.
Wii Big Brain Academy – Very fun and mentally simulating.
Zelda – If you’re into games with more substance.

I really enjoy the Forecast and News channels on the Wii. If you get a chance, definitely hook it up on the internet. Every Tuesday Nintendo puts out games for the Virtual Console, they are usually $5-$10 per game. I never realized how much fun it was to play NES Super Mario!

I was sucked in to the hype after playing it a friends house and the WANT to get one overcame the NEED. One of those purchases I feel guilty about for trying to not get sucked into the hype but oh well. I am pretty frugal and I wrote it off as being one purchase for myself since I really do not buy much at all other than what I need.

I recommend the Rayman Rabbits game (or whatever its called) – lots of fun mini-games. Even if you find yourself not using it that much by yourselves, it is worth it for us just to have when people come over. nothing gets people laughing like wacthing someone try to play wii tennis or do the fitness tests.
