After reading your review, I think I will have to check out that book! Nothing worries me more than my parents' poor financial choices - they were never good money role models, and actually most of my good money habits came from my desire to NOT end up like them. Now that they are getting older, I want to sit down and talk with them about getting their act together and about estate planning, but I can never find a way to approach it that doesn't sound morbid or condescending. Hopefully that book will enlighten me and make things easier. Thanks!

Communication is the key to any relationship. Money is one of them. My husband and I became much closer when both was on the same page financially. We had the same goals and money styles when it came to budgets, paying bills and saving for future goals. It sadden me to hear when one spouse is on board an the other does not respect money. You will never win financially. And then there is a bigger problem other than money. You have a marriage issue.

Hey Trent,

I’ve actually become very comfortable talking with money.

Does this mean that you actually talk to money? Or do you mean you talk while you hold money? Heh heh, sorry, couldn't resist.

I talk to my girlfriend / future wife all the time about money, but the problem is sometimes I frustrate myself doing so, feeling there is not ever enough.

Sometimes it seems like it would almost be better not to talk about it at all.
