I love the idea of bananas foster, but loathe bananas, so my husband makes this for me using peaches. I like the donut peaches the best, but any sort will do – it’s very tasty.

My husband made bananas Foster this past winter – it made our kids’ evening. Once it’s flaming, it’s fun to sprinkle some cinnamon into the flame – it sparkles.

Yea, you should separate recipes your food category! I’d love to have all your great tips easily accessible (And I’m kinda lazy). Plus, my kitchen remodel was finished last week, so I’m doing a *ton* more cooking, now, and we’ll be eating on the cheap at least until our savings recover!

I have to agree with the Bananas Foster. It is one of my favorite desserts to make, especially for guests. As you said, it’s fairly cheap and very easy yet tastes great and everyone is impressed by the flame.

Speaking of bananas, on the same line is a quick treat called “Bananas Brule”. Slice some bananas lenghtwise and place flat side up on a raised wire rack. Sprinkle with sugar & cinnamon. Using a propane torch (yes, that is correct) run the flame over banannas until sugar is carmelized and serve.

oh gosh, I remember eating bananas foster in Vietnam. And it was impressive, something along the lines of “ooh… the plate’s on fire!”

anyway, just wanted you to know that I’ve been checking your blog and reading as many posts as I possibly can since I found it. it made me think more about how I’m spending my money (which is your aim, I guess) so thanks!
