I like how someone in the comments suggested using the word ‘mindful’ to replace frigal. I think that captures the spirit of the word well.

I used your ideas about frugality in an adult Sunday school class last Sunday, and people liked it. I think that frugality is about understanding what is truly valuable in life, and it also accounts for the social costs and benefits of decisions.

I have a dilemma and I wonder what you would think. I have been saving and investing since since I began working, and have accumulated a decent size portfolio. I got a government job last year so that I will get defined-benefit pension benefits on top of my savings. Problem is, I don’t like my job. Should I quit and go back to doing what I was doing in the private sector?
