The butt ad is for some property management firm, JUBA realty. Perhaps Google thinks that since I sometimes look to see recent events at my prior place of employment (property management company/apartment complex), I want to be a male stripper.

Probably the male stripper would be a better job, as I really was not happy managing an apartment complex in a seedy area of town.

Consider yourselves lucky; it's not an appealing white plaid-clad butt.

I third (fourth?:) getting it out of the freezer. We tried to cook a half thawed turkey (it had been in the fridge for 2 days already) a few years ago and it resulted in us butchering the turkey trying to cut off the cooked parts so we could actually sit down for dinner at a reasonable hour.

Fresh turkeys are definately the way to go now. Thanksgiving only happens once a year so why not go out and spend a little bit extra for a fresh one.

I second (third?) the folks who said to get that turkey out of the freezer pronto! They take forever to thaw, in the fridge OR in a pan of cold water. We avoided this situation by buying a fresh one this year!
Happy Thanksgiving, though - I'm thankful for your blog.

That divorce post is quite interesting. As a young woman contemplating marriage, stories like this certainly throw a wrench into the idea. I've read Smart Women Finish Rich and I think that book explains things clearly and well, and offers practical solutions to avoid this possibility of ending up with nothing. While I'm not a fan of prenups, more and more I'm realizing that it really is better to be safe than sorry.

Kenny,

I don't think Trent has control over those ads, they are automated by Google. It is different each time you go to the site, I have not seen the butt yet.

Trent,

I don't know what I did, but the sponsored ad on your home page is a plaid-covered white butt. This makes it quite obvious that I'm not browsing a work-related website.

Is there any way you can fix this?

Thanks,

Kenny

I second the thoughts by LC, mine is in the fridge thawing slowly. Maybe you are just planning to thaw it in water.

Trent, since you are knowledgeable about cooking, which do you think is best? Thawing in the fridge or in water?

Just remember to thaw the turkey in time - it can take 3-4 days for a large one. If you don't have that long, thaw it in the sink with cold water. I'm sure you know that but I was surprised that you still had it in the freezer.

Happy Turkey Day!
