I have been looking at some of the older posts and realizing that I am tempted to make an impulse buy on a Laptop Lunch ensemble that someone mentioned. Does anyone have one of the Laptop Lunches and can they recommend? I have put it on my calendar for February 1 and will reevaluate the purchase then.

Glad that you included "Why Johnny Can Read". It's the post that brought me to your blog and I have sent the link to many friends and family members. I recently stumbled across this article when I was doing some research: http://www.nea.org/neatoday/0801/esea.html
It gives a frightening look at the impact of the No Child Left Behind Act on the students it was supposedly designed to help. I encourage anyone who wants public education in place for their children and grandchildren to contact their member of Congress and ask them to support legislation allowing states to use multiple measures to calculate student achievement.

Personally I love the August Post on Ten Things Any College Student Can Do To Prepare For Success In Life.

I am a graduating student. So accordign to the post I realized some of the 'misses' and the 'hits' during my academic studies.

Certainly the post is a wonderful guide for students.

Thanks Trent! 2008 will be better!

Trent, I have spent the last hour reading your blog. I started with the 31 days to Fix Your Finances and ended up reading many of your cooking posts. I live by myself so cooking on one weekend for the whole month appeals to me. I'm also going to try the breakfast burritos as my chickens are actually laying eggs now.

Happy New Year

I also bought a razor completely because of this blog a few months back. It takes a little getting use to but the advice of shaving with a wet face and with the grain helped a lot.

I loved the Slow Cooker post (as well as most of the other ones too), but I have to admit that, along with the slow cooker, I bought two items directly because of this blog: A Rival Crock Pot and the Merkur Classic Safety Razor.

The Crock Pot is great and I'm still learning the intricacies of the razor.

Thanks Trent and have a happy new year!
