Great post. Sounds like a great book. The best ideas are simple and to the point sounds like the template for the book.

I have to agree David Allen is the king of time management. His books are the best I have read hands down.

I like that "Get started" is the gist of it, because that's really the hardest part. That's why I think books like On Writing are so valuable: they're not "about" inspiration, but that's exactly what they do. Without books like that, "get started" would be that much harder to do.

Twenty years ago, I hired a consultant to help me in my business. I thought he would have one grand idea that would turn things around. Instead, he had 100 little tips that worked synergisticly to help the business succeed. The consultant was worth his fee.

I think books with bit size ideas are great- if you actually do what the book recommends.

Getting started is definately the hardest part. It takes 3 weeks to make a habit. How you managed to get yourself up at 4:15 A.M. enough times to make a habit of it is BEYOND ME. I wish I could do that. Dang snooze button...

Good review. The books hits some critical points worth pondering if you are in a rut. The first is a great philosophy, "DO IT NOW". There is n time like the present moment to get started on your journey or task.

I find in getting out of debt people get lost in where to begin so they don't. Don't worry about making the wrong move, just take some action.

Keep in mind that your decisions don't have to be world class, just good enough. The paralysis of analysis is more damaging at times than making the wrong first step.

Trent, based on your recent post on how your typical day is organized - you could write a book on time management!
