@Writer's coin. I think it's a combination of the subject matter and relevance to the average TSD reader.

I think these posts are great, however, and I'd like them to continue, with _more_ detail.

Keep it up, Trent!

It's interesting that posts on this book don't get nearly the amount of comments as your other posts, Trent. What's the deal with that? Do you think people just aren't as into investing? Or is it the book?

I'm reading Warren Buffett's new biography that came out this year right now, The Snowball. It's very interesting to read about Graham in this book and what kind of a guy he was. Very intelligent, kind of quirky, and not nearly as driven to make money as Buffett was/is. But he's the master and there would've been no Buffett without Graham.

The bargain issues of various types section, in my opinion, does not refer to index funds. Graham would've recommended screening for the correct value criteria first. He would've advocated 10 years of positive earnings, a consistent and rising dividend yield, a reasonable PE, and more. The S&P 500 is currently filled with many companies such as banks that lost money last year, as well as companies that aren't necessarily that cheap.

Crazy that even with all the developments in the stock market, the only core principles that can really be relied on as sound investing advice were developed so long ago.

Interestingly enough, this book continues to stand the test of time.
In a low market, like today, there are many stocks that fit the criteria. The trick is to determine which ones are suffering from the "negative bubble".
