Seems a very interesting and insightful book from the way you put it. Also seems to agree with many of my thoughts on life.

Will endorse Dawn Journal's comment, you summarize it so well, that we feel like we have read the book.

Recommended it for my university and hostel library.

Thanks and Best Wishes

Sounds interesting. I really like books that discuss personal philosophies and values as well as money because I think they are inextricably linked. However, I dislike books that rely heavily on anecdotes since they cannot be used to make generalizations. An example is "The rules of wealth."

John Bogle is the consummate investment adviser. Common sense and in touch with reality. The only thing that nags the back of my mind is that Vanguard has lots of funds that are decidedly not index funds. I wonder how that squares with his overall philosophy?

I browsed all Bogle's books but never bought or read any of them. You summarize books so well that it feels like reading these books but in a couple of minutes.
Cheers,

Perhaps the books should have been called "Not Enough"? I do agree with many of Bogle's main points. It's obvious that he is a member of an older (and wiser) generation. Many on Wall Street could benefit from reading his advice.

I would add a bullet point to his "not enoughs".

11. Too much "book smarts", not enough "common sense". If an investment, job, or potential purchase seems too good to be true, it more than likely is. A lot of very smart people have made very bad decisions.

I just ordered copies for my two sons. I agree that a conversation with Bogle would be great. I also take the long view. I was able to retire at 54 with enough to last for many years. Good review of an excellent book
