Thanks for the review.A wedding can be a gigantic money suck – that’s why there are lots of lists of tips on how to save money on weddings. This is one of the most complete ones I’ve ever seen. My attitude is this: a wedding is about people, not about stuff. Don’t blow exorbitant amounts on stuff.

I checked it out from our library (I love the library as it is FREE) and really enjoyed this book! It is worth the investment to buy if you are new to frugal living….I still re read my Tightwad Gazette, which is invaluable!

I didn’t find the book all that helpful for myself (I’d read most of it online), but I would recommend it to my friends and family who don’t read blogs. There’s a lot of good stuff in there!

I actually laughed out loud when I read your comment about your wife’s opinion of your clothes. It was just delivered so subtly that I almost missed it.

In regards to putting out a similar package for The Simple Dollar, I think that’s a great idea. But put a version out for the Kindle too. I am passing on the Wisebread one for now till they Kindle it.

I bought the book through Nora Dunn’s link when it first came out. I, too, had read a lot of the articles on wisebread. My mother, on the other hand, doesn’t bother with blogs so was thrilled to get my copy. It does make a great gift, especially for people who aren’t internet savvy or still prefer books.

While I really like the whole article, the cook in me is horrified that you would go to the trouble of growing green onions and claim that you do this because it’s cheaper than green onions. Growing them yourself is the same price and just as easy!
