Interestingly, the name “Hamm” is on the list of 100 or so random names that Gladwell uses as a test of how connected people are ;)

I can’t imagine inviting a bunch of people to anything – I just don’t feel that I know most of them well enough to think they’d turn up and enjoy themselves. I do realise that this is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I’m fortunate that online, and at work, I can do better. I think it’s the innately shared situation. Otherwise, from a logistical point of view, only about half my *weak ties* live nearby, maybe fewer.
