@Shevaun

Good point! But I wouldn't really going down to that level. GTD is not about micromanaging your tasks. It's about pushing your tasks to the next action until they all get done. I think this requirement can simply get done by the Next Action List.

Can someone tell me the dates & titles of # 1-8 and #10 for this series of articles?

For the past 2 days I have been using what I can from article #9 and feel very good about all my work tasks (paid work) being collected & organized & I'm starting to act on them. instead of 94 e-mails waiting for me, I have 17 e-mails + a list (by priority & urgency) in my Outlook calendar. When they are don, I delete. If they need more time, I forward them to another day or time slot.

I have to say I am rather fearful of making the "around the house" collecting & list.

I want to kow what I have missd!

I would add a fifth category, titled something like "Time Lag Tasks." (That's not a great title, but hey...). These are things that you can get started then go on to something else. For example, when I clean the house, I always put the laundry in first. *While* the machine is washing the clothes, I clean the bathroom. By the time I'm done with the bathroom, the clothes in the dryer can either be put on the line or in the dryer, depending on the season. I continue on cleaning the house, periodically checking on the laundry. By the time the house is clean, the laundry is done. There are other tasks like this, such as backing up your computer files, defrosting things for cooking, anything using a slow cooker... etc.

That's good advice, to clearly separate "predefined work", "work as it shows up" and "Defining your work".

It becomes a matter of building the discipline of setting aside the time and then only doing just the work you've predefined instead. Same applies for defining your work :)
