@Christy:

Right, I'm sure you do. :: eyeroll ::

The numbers prove me write. There are only 2 other entries in this series that have more comments than this one. The second entry, and another one where someone kicked the hornets' nest and pointed out how boring and drawn-out this review is.

Mailbag posts can easily reach over 100 comments. These book review posts can't even break into the double-digits. VERY few people are reading these posts, which means Trent is not making any money off of them. Which means Trent is wasting his time with this series, in my opinion.

Trent, please continue the excellent review. We appreciate the time and effort you are putting into providing these summaries. I borrowed the book from the library, read it while taking a notebook worth of notes. Your reviews are the final step as I finish implementing the system and I'm confident that I will continue to refer to them as well as my own notes in future years. Thanks again.

I like how this sort of addresses an issue I often face: I have a lot of important long-term goals of equal weight, and then less important but more urgent tasks. (for instance: writing a dissertation, applying for jobs whose deadlines are a month away, grading student speeches, replying to emails) Often I chose among these tasks not based on a formula, but based on what I am most excited to work on right now. This can get me into trouble when I'm putting off long-term important things, but it allows me to make a quick decision and at least accomplish something with my time.

I'm enjoying this series. Read GTD two Christmases ago and intend to re-read and review my processes this Christmas. And then refine; this series is helping a lot with the points I'm not so good at, like the bigger picture stuff.

Geez, we're only at part 9 of 20? I'll be glad when this series of filler posts is over with. I have absolutely no interest at all in this series, and judging by the total vacuity of comments in every one of the blog posts in this series, I'm not alone.

Trent, take note: this series is a total waste of your time. It's not generating any income for you. Nobody is reading them. Find a better use of your time. Surely there's something in at least one of the chapters in this book on that subject, no?

Continuing to appreciate these articles.

I'm also noticing that I'm doing SOME things right already (like grouping by context), which makes me feel like it's possible to pick up the rest fairly easily.
