Trent, if you want to spend an hour in the gym, then do it and ignore the naysayers. Perhaps the time exercising is used for something in conjuction with getting fit i.e. quiet time to think, extra personal time, whatever. I take about an hour and a half at a track seven days a week. Sometimes I move like lightning, other days it's a brisk walk. I will never be fit enought to run a marathon nor do I want to. I just want the time to get fit, to own a part of the day for myself. Go ahead Trent, it isn't about efficiency it's about doing what you love in a way that keeps you motivated.

an hour to an hour and a half in the gym is excessive. 30 minutes 5 days a week is excessive unless you're training for a half marathon or longer. check out The 4-Hour Body if you're looking for more effective exercises

I love Evernote, which is where I keep everything I want to write down. A daily diary sounds like a good way to keep track of everything. I could also use Google Docs. So many goals to track though.

The spirit of this post is one that I can agree with. Sure, we can have great goals that are specifically aligned with our long-term goals and further, our most deep seated interests and values in life. The thing is, many people don't follow through because they don't know how to get it done - or, they do know but they're too disorganized to actually do it. You're outlining good, practical steps on how to make that happen.

I'm confused, you say it's best to make 1 resolution and stick to that because it's better than making multiple resolutions but you've evidentally made 3.

And the first 2 are taking up between 2-3 hours already (1-1/2 hours for exercise and 1 hour plus for piano) and there's another that will take more time?

Plus everything you outlined you need 11 calendars to keep track of? Aren't maybe over committing yourself?
