thanks for including the link to the garden article. We don’t lack space for a garden, just lack sun (surrounded by pine trees). The square foot garden concept will allow us to have a garden on our deck. Hopefully the deer won’t venture up there!

You may want to check out Rodale’s line of books on gardening. You can build a south-facing cold frame in the back yard and grow about as much in winter as you could grow in the basement, without the additional electric expense.

I’m old school & enjoy Monopoly, among other classic board games.

We make our own replacements for missing game parts (unless it’s something that needs to be camouflaged from the other players, like a playing card). Using Monopoly as an example, we’ve made replacement deeds, cash, action cards (if they get torn too badly) and player tokens.

Used games from various sources are a good way to get missing pieces for games you already have. If you have lost the instructions, you can usually find them on the publishers website or elsewhere on the web.
