Prioritize these, first by how important they are to you, then by how cheap they are. Any that are high on both lists should be tackled first. Those high on the importance list but low on the cheapness list should be next. Those low on both lists should be last if at all.

Q7: Tell them. Unless you actually do have some psychological issue, this is a simple matter of resiliency. If they are not supportive of you, and make fun of you, find other friends.

I just lost my husband a year ago. We were married 16 years. Everyone grieves differently, including how soon they are willing to change their surroundings or donate their loved one’s things. I had to do it right away as it was too painful to have those reminders around. Others I know are three years into their loss and can’t let go of those things, but still function fine. I’m not sure that’s the best answer. I think it is better to have a heart to heart with your friend and lovingly let him know you are there for him, but that he’s going to have to pull it together for work or possibly face some consequences.
