Re: the toothbrush, I have also heard strong recommendations from nurses and doctors to change your toothbrush every 3 months, whether it’s worn out or not. Great preventative health care, protecting from bacteria and illness. $2 for a new brush, every 3 months – that’s $8 a year for preventive health care. Perhaps it should be part of the next US health care bill!

Toothbrush – Ask your dentist for an extra, most of the time they don’t object. However, you might also ask if you’re brushing your teeth too hard by running through toothbrushes. Apparently brushing too hard can strip off the enamel.

You should change your toothbrush every 90 days at the minimum for proper effectiveness and definitely change it whenever you’ve had an illness such as the flu.

Q1 – use the money as a source to start making the regular payments on the student loans if otherwise you would have to put them in deferment, since they accrue interest on the full amount while deferred.
