Pulp fiction has always been available for cheap but required reading in college is very expensive, even 40 years ago. My payback from textbooks was far more cost effective than pounding through paperbacks.

Reading what you want is VERY expensive. You can not find anything new under $10. Sure, you can wait two years and get the book elsewhere.
