$15,216. That number reflects the average US household credit card debt among indebted households. That's a scary number, and it means that for every household with $1,000 in debt, there's another household with over $30,000 in debt. Why is credit card debt so high? The Simple Dollar’s Review
The Citi Simplicity® Card is, as the name suggests, very simple. While this means an unimpressive rewards system, it also means virtually no hidden fees. You’ll never get hit with late fees or annual fees with the Citi Simplicity® Card — a true rarity in the industry. Another key perk to this card is the extended 0% APR promotional period of 18 months, whereas most similar cards offer only 12 months. This APR applies both to purchases and to balance transfers, making it an excellent balance transfer card. Once the promotional period expires, interest rates don’t skyrocket like most cards; this one stays at a reasonable variable interest rate of 12.99%-21.99%. And this interest rate applies to everything, including cash advances, balance transfers, and purchases.
For cardholders who enjoy chasing rewards and bonuses, the Citi Simplicity® Card might not be the card for you, since it has no rewards program. Some users have also reported poor experiences with customer service and fraud protection. In lieu of no rewards, however, the Simplicity does offer a few perks that are relatively rare finds with cards having no annual fees. Cardholders can avail themselves of the Citi® Private Pass®, which grants users early ticket access to concert, sporting, and other entertainment events. You’ll also receive price protection and retail purchase protection on eligible purchases.
