The Reader Mailbag will return on Monday morning. However, there will be a normal afternoon post later today.
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope that you have a chance to do what I am lucky enough to do today: spend time with friends and family, hopefully over a nice meal together.
Thanksgiving is also a great time to reflect on the great things we have in life.
It’s often easy to get caught up in the challenges and problems that all of us face. However, we all have a lot of things that we sometimes overlook that make our life wonderful.
I’m thankful for my daughter’s laugh, which fills up a room and pulls others into the mirth. (I wrote this one first because, well, I can actually hear her laughter as I’m writing this.)
I’m thankful for my wife’s easy ability to make everyone feel comfortable.
I’m thankful for my oldest son’s boundless consideration of others, far beyond what could ever reasonably be expected for someone of his age.
I’m thankful for my youngest son’s insatiable curiosity about the world, which makes all of us stop and reconsider so many basic things we take for granted.
I’m thankful for the enduring love of my parents, who continue to be a great support for me even as I advance through my thirties and they journey well into retirement.
I’m thankful for having an incredible set of in-laws, who have made me feel as though I have been a natural part of the family since, well, forever.
I’m thankful for the continue ability to write on a consistent basis, as it provides me a great outlet for my internal thoughts and struggles.
I’m thankful for all of you, who read the things that I write, share it with friends, and often give me feedback of all kinds.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
