This week is Financial Independence Week at The Simple Dollar. Each day, I’ll be writing two articles on the theme of children gaining financial indepenedence from their parents/guardians. There are a lot of complex issues at stake – communications, finance, relationships, emotions – and there are some general guidelines that both parents and children can think about when working through how children can begin to fly on their own. Cheap Fast Food Cost Analysis My sarcastic parody site sometimes posts some great stuff, and here’s an example: it’s cheaper to make your own cheeseburgers than to order McDonalds’ Dollar Menu double cheeseburgers – plus they look a lot more appealing than the Mickey D’s. (@ the sinful dollar)
