This is the definition of a lazy week. Everyone seems to be on vacation, spending time with their families. Guess I’ll spend my time reading these great personal finance posts.

Why They Want You To Be Broke Completely spot on – and from a blog that I’ve never read before. Trump and Kiyosaki both have… questionable ideas and motives. They’re both massive risk takers and just because that risk has paid off for them (sometimes, especially w/ Kiyosaki) doesn’t mean it will pay off very often for anyone else. (@ getting green)

Redefining My Emergency Fund This post makes a strong argument for redefining an emergency fund as a “cash reserve,” which in this post means extra cash that can easily be liquidated. The logic makes a lot of sense, but it’s also roughly equal to what a real healthy six month emergency fund would look like for a good wage earner. (@ crazy money)

How To Protect Yourself From Lifestyle Inflation This is a concern for me, particularly as I see others around me living a very expensive lifestyle. How do I keep myself psychologically from trying to keep pace with them? This post has a lot of good ideas for solving just that problem. (@ get rich slowly)
