The Simple Dollar Morning Roundup: Pepto Bismol Edition

About once a year, I go through a week or so of viciously sore stomach, usually right around the onset of summer. It’s almost like clockwork. Pepto Bismol is the only thing that really helps, so right now I’m chugging the Pepto all the time. I’ll be fine in a few days.

Have you ever tried ginger candy? I live in Eastern Iowa and get it at Hy-Vee. That works perfectly for me and tastes a lot better. Or maybe some ginger tea as well.

  2. My wife has the same problem. She takes Prilosec and that keeps her happy.

  3. Since you mentioned Don Aslett’s “Clutter’s Last Stand”, check out his “Make Your House Do the Housework”. It’s a great book to get before you buy *anything* for the new house.

He uses his near-comicbook style to explain how to design a low-maintenace house.

I hope your stomache heals quickly.

    All the best,

Strange, I seem to have the same problem and come to think of it, it’s often at this time of year. I’m eating yogurt and drinking chamomile and licorice tea. It’s worse this year than I’ve had it in the past.

I guess the good part is that I’m losing weight (almost 10lbs so far)… but it’s a hell-of-a weight loss program.
