The Simple Dollar Weekly Roundup: Reading Edition

My oldest son is progressing like crazy with his reading skills. He’s reached the point where he can piece through a lot of picture books, only stopping every once in a while to ask abou a word. He seems to be devouring almost every printed thing he can find.

Sarah and I are encouraging this, of course. We make trips to the library all the time.

However, our bedtime reading has really started to change lately. He wants us to read books to him that he considers too difficult, so we’re moving into some deeper children’s literature with him, even some things that you might call young adult.

It’s a lot of fun. There are so many great books out there that he’s going to be able to discover in the future.
