American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card Review
The American Express Blue Business Cash™ Cardprovides business owners with a simple, straightforward way to earn cash back on business purchases. You can earn 2% cash back on all eligible purchases on up to $50,000 per calendar year, then 1%. If you prefer to have no annual fee with your business card and want to earn cash back with an easy rewards structure, the American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card may be the card for you.
What we like about the American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card
- You can earn 2% cash back on up to $50,000 in purchases each year — that’s one of the highest cash back rates around for business cards. Terms Apply.
- No annual fee (See Rates & Fees here )
- The card comes with other business-friendly perks, like car rental damage and loss insurance, free employee cards and extended warranty and purchase protection
Things to consider
- Big business spenders may benefit more from cards that offer unlimited 2% cash back and no spending limits, even if there’s an annual fee

- If you do plan to use this card while traveling, be aware of the 2.7% foreign transaction fee (See Rates & Fees here ) for purchases
Cash back details
The American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card provides 2% cash back on transactions of up to $50,000 per year, then 1% unlimited cash back after that. Cash back is automatically applied as a statement credit. You get an introductory APR rate of 0% on purchases for 12 months from date of account opening, then ongoing 13.24% - 19.24% Variable, which can be helpful depending on your business needs and purchases.
With Expanded Buying Power from the American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card, you can spend beyond your credit limit. The Expanded Buying Power capacity adjusts as you use your card, with factors like credit record, payment history and financial resources influencing the limit.
Maximize your cash back rewards by spending at least $50,000 on the card each calendar year to get the maximum 2% cash back, then 1%.
Fee details
The fact that the American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card has no annual fee is an attractive feature, compared to similar business cards with annual fees. There’s also no over-limit fee with this card, which can be helpful when you need to make big purchases.
Late payment fees are up to $39, and returned payment fees are $39, which are all standard for business credit cards (See Rates & Fees here ).
The card’s 2.7% foreign transaction fee (See Rates & Fees here ) may decrease the usefulness of this card for business owners and employees who frequently travel abroad. For business owners and employees who do extensive international travel, a travel business card with no foreign transaction fees may make more sense.
How does it compare to other business credit cards?

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card also doesn’t have an annual fee and provides unlimited cash back rates, along with a cash back intro offer. If you know you’ll be spending significantly each year and travel internationally, the Capital One® Spark® Cash for Business may be a better choice.
