The World Of Hyatt Credit Card earns you rewards through one of the most valuable hotel rewards programs available. World of Hyatt points can give you free nights at more than 800 Hyatt hotels worldwide with fantastic redemption rates. The sign up bonus alone is worth up to 10 free nights, and you’ll earn another free night on your account anniversary every year.

The World of Hyatt rewards rate is fantastic for frequent travelers, earning you 4x points per dollar on all Hyatt hotel reservations, 2x points per dollar at restaurants and on airline tickets purchased directly from an airline, local transit and gym memberships and 1x point per dollar on other purchases. If Hyatt is your first choice for lodging when you travel, you should consider having The World Of Hyatt Credit Card in your wallet.

What we like about The World Of Hyatt Credit Card

  • Sign up bonus worth up to 10 free nights: You can earn up to 50,000 bonus points when you first open your The World Of Hyatt Credit Card. Earn 25,000 Bonus Points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. Plus, 25,000 Bonus Points after you spend $6,000 total within 6 months of account opening.
  • Free night anniversary: Every year after your anniversary, Hyatt will award you a free night for being a cardmember. You can use your free night at any Hyatt hotel that falls between category one and four.
  • Additional free night: If you spend $15,000 with your The World Of Hyatt Credit Card in a cardmember anniversary year, you’ll also earn an additional free night at a Hyatt hotel (category one through four).
  • Elite status: As long as your credit card account is open, you’ll receive automatic World of Hyatt Discoverist status, entitling you to preferred room upgrades, late checkout and other perks.

Things to consider

  • Hyatt-exclusive rewards: Your rewards can only be redeemed at Hyatt hotels, so if you prefer another hotel chain or don’t have a Hyatt available in the areas you frequently travel, this might not be the best card for you.
  • Annual fee: The World Of Hyatt Credit Card comes with a $95 annual fee that isn’t waived the first year.
  • Limited hotel availability: The World Of Hyatt Credit Card has fewer than 900 participating properties worldwide. While there’s still a great chance you’ll have one nearby, they aren’t nearly as prominent as other hotel families with rewards programs like Marriott and Hilton.
  • No intro APR period: The World Of Hyatt Credit Card comes with a 17.49% - 24.49% Variable APR from the get-go.

The World of Hyatt Credit Card hotel rewards details

Making Hyatt your first choice for lodging when you travel is essential for both earning and redeeming points with your The World Of Hyatt Credit Card. You’ll earn 4x points for every dollar spent at Hyatt hotels, 2x points for every dollar spent at restaurants and on flights booked directly through an airline, local transit and gym memberships, as well as 1x point per dollar on all other purchases.

As a sign up bonus, you’ll earn 25,000 points when you spend $3,000 in the first three months and an extra 25,000 points after you spend $6,000 within the first six months. Hyatt’s reward rate starts at only 5,000 points for category one properties, which means there’s enough bonus points for up to 10 free nights. If you use your The World Of Hyatt Credit Card for $15,000 in purchases in one anniversary year, you’ll also earn an extra free night.

The World of Hyatt Credit Card fees

The card’s fees are very reasonable for the rewards you’ll earn with it. You’ll pay a $95 annual fee every year and no foreign transaction fees. The card’s balance transfer fee is $5 or 5% of the transfer amount, whichever is greater, and cash advances come with either a $10 or 5% fee of the advance amount, whichever is greater. For late payments and returned checks, you’ll pay up to $39.

How does it compare to other hotel credit cards?

The World Of Hyatt Credit Card holds its own when compared to other co-branded hotel and travel credit cards, but it’s not the only option out there. The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card beats The World Of Hyatt Credit Card in certain regards, it has similar redemption rates at nearly 10x as many properties. If you need rewards that are more flexible than a hotel-exclusive card like The World Of Hyatt Credit Card, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is the best choice. You’ll earn Ultimate Rewards points, which can be easily transferred to The World Of Hyatt Credit Card rewards program.

The bottom line

The World Of Hyatt Credit Card is a great option for people who stay regularly at Hyatt hotels while traveling. With its lucrative sign up bonus and rewards rate for Hyatt hotel reservations, you’ll earn free nights in no time. The biggest thing to watch out for with Hyatt is hotel availability. With fewer than 900 properties, you’re less likely to find Hyatt hotels versus Marriott and Hilton hotels. If you know you’ll have access to Hyatt hotels when you travel, The World Of Hyatt Credit Card is the perfect tool to minimize your lodging costs and earn some valuable perks while you’re at it.
